Child Support
The District Attorney’s Child Support Enforcement Division enforces child support orders issued from the Orleans Parish Civil District Court. The division was working 15,325 cases as of July 2018. The OPDA and the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services perform these services pursuant to a cooperative endeavor agreement. Diversion
The OPDA’s Diversion program enables qualifying, non-violent offenders the opportunity to avoid prosecution and conviction by completing a program tailored to individual needs, including educational programming, job skills training and substance-abuse counseling.
